Way to give these pirates a Christmas present they'll never forget: Santa's sleigh raining down heavy and assault death from above. Extremely unfortunate about Blitz and his 'Mech, though, we're very lucky that he survived that crack shot from the Hetzer. The battle would've been even shorter, but the commander of this pirate force not being in the Mobile HQ, as well as being stubborn as a rock, had prolonged the engagement unnecessarily.
Speaking of the Mobile HQ, there was a number of interesting things onboard this vehicle. For one, it shows how well equipped the pirates actually are; working Mobile HQs in this day and age are incredibly rare, even with the Helm Memory Core recovery from a decade ago, and this was one of them. It was pristine before the engine was burned out. For two, the Mobile HQ (once we got it powered again, namely by the Pinion's engines) held a storehouse of information about the pirates' general whereabouts and their main base of operations.
They're operating out of a Star League base close to the South Pole, one that the AFFS was not aware of. We need to take care of that. It doesn't explain why they were so well-supplied out of the gate, however, because they had a large number of lower tech tanks and plenty of ammunition to work with. And the Wolfhound! That 'Mech is only 10 years old!
Before we hit the base, we need to wipe out the other camps and outposts these bandits have established. The Mobile HQ has the locations for all of them.
